Hier, j'ai senti que le Seigneur a dit que nous allions faire face à une opposition aujourd'hui qui allait nous tenter d'abandonner, mais que nous devions nous enfoncer jusqu'au bout. C'était vrai. C'était une journée pleine de confusion. Nous sommes devenus séparés, détournés et désorientés presque toute la journée. Notre mandat était de marcher dans la joie et c'était par la grâce de Dieu que nous l'avons fait. Il y avait, à plusieurs reprises, les temps où on a pensé que ça serait mieux d'abandonner et essayer de nouveau le lendemain matin, mais on a continué et achevé la route prévue à la fin de la journée. C'était une bonne leçon de persévérance. Si cette journée est une image de l'atmosphère spirituelle de cette région, alors ce n'est pas surprenant qu'il existe peu d'églises ici.
Par contre, ce soir le pasteur de notre lieu d'accueil (une très beau ancien supermarché) nous a raconté l'histoire de comment le Seigneur a pourvu pour cette assemblée de 50 personnes d'acheter un grand bâtiment dans un beau quartier d'Istre pour 30 000 euros sans de l'argent dans la poche. Quelle leçon de foi ! Ils font manger les affamés et revêtent les pauvres et obéissent au Seigneur et Lui, il continue simplement de les bénir avec encore plus…l'économie du Royaume à l'œuvre. C'est comme ça qu'il faut qu'il soit quand les marchés feront faillite. En fait, il faudrait qu'il en soit ainsi déjà et nous sommes en train de voir beaucoup d'exemples de comment le Seigneur bénit de la foi et la fidélité.
Aujourd'hui nous nous sommes trouvés sur un wharf de pêche où nous avons lu une lettre de reconnaissance à la nation de France et à M. Sarkozy, du Président d'Israël, Simon Peres, qui a loué la France de s'être tenu avec Israël et qui a encouragé M. Sarkozy de prendre l'opportunité de construire une alliance forte avec l'Israël et le Jordan en amenant la paix dans le Moyen Orient et une résolution du problème Palestinien. C'est une rare chance de voir la France retourner à sa destinée comme nation exhorteur.
Demain nous allons entrer à Marseille. C'est le dernier jour de notre voyage. Nous ne pouvons pas décrire, ni partager tout ce qui s'est passé, mais il suffit de dire qu'il a été formidable et nous a changé la vie. Merci pour les prières prononcées, chuchotées ou même pensées en notre faveur. Nous n'aurions pas pu le faire autrement.

Yesterday I felt as if the Lord had said that we would face opposition today that would tempt us to give up, but that we must press through to the end. That proved to be true. It was a very confusing day. We got lost, separated, turned around and disoriented almost all day long. Our mandate was to walk with joy and it was by the grace of God that we did. There were several times when we thought it might be best to hang it up and try again in the morning, but we kept at it and made our destination point at the end of the day. It was a good lesson in perseverance. If this day is a picture of the spiritual atmosphere in this area, then it is not surprising that there are few churches.
On the Other Hand,
Tonight the pastor of our host facility (a very beautiful former supermarket) told us the story of how the Lord provided for this congregation of 50 to buy a huge building in a nice section of Istre for 30,000 Euros with no cash in hand. What a lesson in faith! They feed the hungry and clothe the poor and obey the Lord and he just keeps on blessing them with more. Kingdom economy in action. This is how it must be for the church when the markets fail. Actually, it should be that way already and we are seeing many examples of how the Lord blesses faith and faithfulness.
Today, we stood on a fishing wharf and read a letter of thanks to the nation of France and its president, Nicolas Sarkozy, from the president of Israel, Simon Peres who extolled France for standing with Israel and encouraged Mr. Sarkozy to pick up the opportunity to build a strong alliance with Israel and Jordan in bringing peace to the Middle East and resolution to the Palestinian problem. It is a rare chance to see France return to its destiny as an exhorter nation.
Tomorrow we enter Marseille. It is our final day on this journey. We cannot possibly describe or relate all that has transpired, but suffice it to say it has been great and life changing. Thank you for all the prayers spoken, whispered or thought on our behalf. We could not have done this otherwise.
